It’s a
rainy Sunday afternoon and I just finished listening to CBC Radio’s Writers and Company with Eleanor
Wachtel. Today’s interview, “Julian
Barnes about love, loss and Dmitri Shostakovich,” included extensive discussion
of Barnes’ most recent book, The Noise of
Time.
I’d highly
recommend the book, and Eleanor Wachtel’s interview is a good
introduction. If you missed it, you can find
and listen to this interview by going to http://www.cbc.ca/radio/writersandcompany. I reviewed this novel on April 3: http://schatjesshelves.blogspot.ca/2016/04/review-of-noise-of-time-by-julian-barnes.html.
I’m a real
fan of Julian Barnes’ writing. Last
year, on December 2, I posted my review of his previous novel, The Sense of an Ending: http://schatjesshelves.blogspot.ca/2015/12/book-advent-calendar-day-two-sense-of.html. I learned, from Wachtel’s interview, that
this book is being made into a film!
