Most book reviewers will rate books on a star system.
I rank
books on a five star scale:
5
Stars - Definitely Book Time to Read This One
4
Stars - Worthy of a Bookmark
3
Stars - Still in My Good Books
2
Stars - Don't Put This One in Your Book Bag
1
Star - Throw the Book at This One
I had never
thought of rating book reviews, but there’s no reason why they shouldn’t be
evaluated. Tumblr combed through book
reviews and presented those considered worthy of only one star. Can you imagine calling Anne Frank’s The Diary of a Young Girl as “a real
downer”? How about calling Charlotte
Brontë’s Jane Eyre “pure crap”? How about complaining that Shakespeare’s play
Romeo and Juliet “is almost all
dialogue”?
