Anne Frank Poem Sold

Earlier this month, I reported on the Anne Frank poem which was up for auction (http://schatjesshelves.blogspot.ca/2016/11/anne-frank-poem-for-sale.html).  The poem was sold today in The Netherlands for a price of 140,000 euros ($148,620 CAN) to an online bidder whose identity wasn’t released.

The sale price was nearly three times the upper limit of the Dutch auction house’s pre-sale estimate.  Auction house Bubb Kuyper had put a pre-sale estimate of 30,000-50,000 euros ($32,000-53,000 CAN) on the handwritten and signed poem.
